Panel and Door, Inc. walk-in coolers are generally
built over existing concrete slabs or floors,
though insulated floors can be supplied if
desired.
Advice on insulated concrete slab flooring
is available from Sphinx Panel and Door, Inc.
The foamed-in-place polyurethane cooler wall
and ceiling panel thickness is generally 4"
thick for a 34 degree cooler.
Standard panel skins available are 26 gauge
G90 embossed galvanized steel, 26 gauge G90
USDA white embossed galvanized steel, 26 gauge
stainless steel, or .090 white textured FRP
(fiberglass reinforced plastic).
Coolers
ten feet wide or less (and any length) can
be free standing without ceiling support,
and can be built almost anywhere inside or
outside.
Coolers wider than ten feet will require inside
support from a load beam design, or outside
overhead support, generally from an existing
structure.
Outdoor walk-in coolers wider than ten feet
can be built under the equivalent of a sloped
pole building, which will provide cooler roof
support, as well as rain and snow run-off.
Rubber roofs are available for covering flat
roof applications. Other roof designs are
available.
